What is Cluster Protocol?

Cluster Protocol is an AI infrastructure layer on Base that puts three things behind one interface: a catalogue of over 500 models, a marketplace for tokenised data, and rentable GPU compute. The distinguishing claim is not the catalogue — it is that the computation can be verified and kept private.

What Cluster Protocol actually does

The access layer is deliberately unexotic: over 500 models through a single OpenAI-compatible API, covering text, image, audio, embeddings and reranking. Compatibility is the point — a developer can point existing code at it without rewriting.

Underneath sit the parts that are actually novel. Proof of Actual Computation is meant to make it verifiable that the work you paid for was performed. FHE and ZK are used for privacy-preserving execution, so a model can run on data the operator cannot read. CodeXero is an AI-native IDE that turns natural-language prompts into deployable applications.

Verifiable and private inference is the genuinely hard problem in decentralised AI, and it is the reason this category exists at all. Renting GPUs is a commodity business; proving the GPU did what it claimed is not.

The CLUSTER token

CLUSTER is an ERC-20 on Base used for inference payments, dataset purchases, compute provisioning, staking and governance. Supply-side participants can earn by renting out GPU power, contributing to the compute layer, staking, providing liquidity or referring users.

This is a two-sided marketplace token: demand from people paying for inference, supply from people contributing hardware. Those tokens work when real inference volume flows through them and stall when the only activity is emissions being farmed. Usage, not price, is the metric that tells you which is happening.

Where Unitypad stands

Cluster Protocol is one of the 64 positions on the public portfolio. The club’s own entry records a $500 position dated May 20, 2024, entered via WM Capital, with the TGE-return and P&L columns still empty. The canonical record is in the Unitypad docs.

A small early position through WM Capital, with no recorded token generation event. The empty columns are the record being accurate rather than the record being incomplete.

Nothing here is advice, a price forecast, or a claim about what the project is worth today. It is what the public record says, dated, with the places the record is silent marked as silent.

Cluster Protocol questions, answered

What is Cluster Protocol?

Cluster Protocol is a decentralised AI infrastructure layer on Base that provides access to over 500 AI models through one OpenAI-compatible API, a tokenised data marketplace, and GPU compute, with verifiable and privacy-preserving execution.

What is Proof of Actual Computation?

It is Cluster’s mechanism for making decentralised compute verifiable — establishing that the computation a user paid for was genuinely performed rather than taken on trust.

What is the CLUSTER token used for?

CLUSTER is an ERC-20 on Base used for inference payments, dataset purchases, compute provisioning, staking and governance.

Does Unitypad hold Cluster Protocol?

Yes. The public record shows a $500 position dated May 20, 2024, entered via WM Capital, with the TGE-return and P&L columns still empty.

Logged when it wins.
Logged when it doesn’t.

Unitypad publishes every position by name, with the amount and, where a token generation event has happened, the return. That record is the product: 64 investments, one page, verifiable line by line.
